Scholarship opportunity at Urbana University
Posted on April 9, 2015 at 2:40 PM |
Seniors who are still undecided on a college and who still want to play their instrument can get in touch with Dan Gordon. He still has scholarships available ($500-$4000) and Urbana University’s scholarship policy has now changed. What’s new this year is you can now stack a band scholarship with several other scholarships. For instance, a student with a 3.5 GPA will get: $7000 academic, $2500 surrounding county scholarship, and a $4000 band.

Board Meeting Recognition
Posted on March 31, 2015 at 12:35 AM |
The school board would like to recognize all band students who participated in Solo and Ensemble contest (LHS and LMS) and/or an honor band (LHS or LMS) this school year. We are asking that your child attend the April board meeting held on Tuesday, April 21st at 7:00 PM in room 311 at LHS. (311 is in the front of LHS right at the entrance closest to LES.)
Please wear your London band shirt (LMS) or polo (LHS) with black pants/skirt for the meeting. We will be taking pictures and they will hopefully be in the Madison Press along with an article about the events. You should plan to arrive at LHS by 6:45-6:50 PM and we should be done by 7:30 PM. You are welcome to stay for the meeting as well or plan to pick your child up around 7:30 PM. I think it will be wonderful to see how many students are involved in activities outside of the band class and for the board and community to see this, too. I sincerely hope you can all attend.

Posted on March 27, 2015 at 3:25 PM |
• Report to the band room between 3:45-4:00 AM on Tuesday, March 31.
• Students will leave their instrument and music at school on Monday so it is ready to pack Tuesday morning.
• You will need to sign in your child on Tuesday morning and sign them out Thursday night. At sign in you will need to check in your:

• Band uniform (polo and bl. pants). Please have it on a hanger with your name clearly marked on the hanger and/or in the tag of the clothes. We would also like to check your bl. shoes and socks. None of this should be in your suitcase. If possible pack 2 pair of black pants.
• Prescription Medication. Please make sure everything is officially labeled and in the original bottle.
• Be sure that you have checked off any appropriate boxes on the over the counter medication form to be administered on an 'as needed' basis, otherwise, your child will not be able to receive any 'as needed/over the counter' medications during the trip.

• Bring snacks for the ride down Tuesday and the ride home on Thursday. We will not be stopping to eat dinner Thursday night.
